Hendrix does Walmart

The Jimi Hendrix estate has allowed the first release of his music in 40 years,Valleys of Neptune. Atlantis meets acid. Ho hum. They plan on releasing the music through Walmart.

The "Valleys of Neptune" collection includes 12 tracks recorded during his last recording sessions while he was working on his posthumously completed "First Rays of the Rising Sun." It features studio versions of Hendrix’s covers of "Bleeding Heart" and Cream’s "Sunshine of Your Love," as well as rerecorded versions of classics "Fire," "Red House" and "Stone Free."

I listened to the title cut and his version of "Bleeding Heart". Not bad. I guess his sister Janie is in control of the whole gig. Hits the stores on March 9th. Will be fun to hear the other stuff.
