I loved this song when I was a kid. American pop was still trying to find itself, the British Invasion was soon to be the Barbarians at the Gate and ... "Sally Go 'Round The Roses" ... there was something about this song.
I bought it on a 45 RPM, with "Sally" on the 'A Side.' On the 'B Side' was an alleged instrumental version of the song. But if you put your ear close to the speakers, you could still slightly hear the vocal track. The voices hadn't been entirely erased from the "instrumental" version.
