The Hong Kong Orchid tree is a favorite sight in the Southern California spring, loved by people, bees and hummingbirds alike.
We have a gorgeous purple variety of bauhinia x blakeana at home. This is a closeup of a branch of our friends and neighbors Beth and Levens' tree, which is more whitish pink and is simply magnificent right now.
