I have been really getting into the records from this little fifties era Memphis record company, Duke. They weren't on my homescreen before but everything I have heard from them has been great.

The late, great Joe Houston had offered to take me over to Totsy’s house to meet him in 1994. Before we could arrange a visit, Totsy died. He was a native of Kansas City. I wanted to buy his bus, on which the paint job resembled Shamu the whale. His widow would not let it go.
