Yes, same scopes. I remember reading on the plaque that they were from a battleship. At the time, easily the best lenses I have ever looked through. Probably to this day. Hard to believe the greenery in that shot if it was from August.
Because you are an El Centro kid. We Californians forget that our friends to the east celebrate the monsoon season whilst we are in our driest period. Summer means rain in the southwest, make that the non Mediterranean clime southwest.
