Hmmm

The latest CNN/SSRS poll found 77% of Americans blamed Trump’s policies for increasing the cost of living in their communities.

They asked President Trump today what he thought about American's financial problems and the answer is a beaut.

A reporter asked to what extent “Americans’ financial situations are motivating” him to strike a deal to end his unpopular Iran war.

His answer? “Not even a little bit.”

“The only thing that matters when I’m talking about Iran, they can’t have a nuclear weapon,” he told reporters on the White House lawn.

“I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation. I don’t think about anybody.”

He continued, “I think about one thing: We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s all. That’s the only thing that motivates [me].”

Trump's tacky New York digs
Well, he's obviously fibbing here.

He is thinking about other things.

He's thinking about his ballroom, a new blue reflecting pond and two or three more massive Arc de Trumps.

A few Soviet style larger than life gold Trump statues wouldn't hurt either.

Yesterday he called the White House a shithole so look for a major redecorating project there as well.

That struck me as quite rude and disrespectful but like, who am I?

Trump's remarks on the American economy came after news that the consumer price index surged 3.8% in April, the largest increase in inflation in three years, as a result of increasing oil costs stemming from the Iran war.

Now as laudatory and fine an objective as keeping Iran from a nuke might be, I know Americans and they are a rather loutish and selfish bunch. They care about their own economic situation a lot and not much more about anything else.

I know that Netanyahu has been hard selling an Iranian nuke, but does anybody really believe that they are closer than they were five years ago, especially after the administration said that we had decimated their nuclear capability two years ago during the last bombing adventure.

This callous answer from the Orange King is going to be played over and over in the campaign ads, perfect timing for the midterms.

As hard as the Supreme Court has pitched for Trump on ridding the south of minority representation, his once decent standing with independents is now in the golden toilet and getting worse by the minute.

This will not help.
