In the garden

Nothing too earth shattering but the bromeliad balansae has really multiplied and we have had several flower spikes this year.

First you get the intense red center leaves among the green and then a gorgeous flower jumps out quite quickly.

The one on the left here is about two days old. It will continue to grow.

This is an odd plant I bought once, forget the name. 

Looks like a weed but it gets this crazy yellow ball flower, a perfect sphere from a nondescript base.

Cool thing.
