Homeless on the range

There is a sad article at the New York Times about Trump wanting to move bison off federal land, Home on the Range No More: Trump Wants Bison Gone

The Trump administration is evicting bison herds from federal grasslands in Montana, siding with ranchers and Republican leaders over environmentalists and tribal leaders.

Last week I wrote about Canada creating new habitat for bison, unsurprisingly, the opposite is happening here.

Beef prices are high so let's let ranchers overgraze public lands so that we can get our steaks cheaper.

Talk about socialism, farmers and ranchers get a real regular silver spoon of government bailouts in this country.

I thought that this woman's words were the worst or saddest, not sure which:

Conservation groups condemned the decision, as did Native American tribes, who say the anti-bison effort threatens their own herds as they try to revive bison populations that were hunted to near extinction by 19th-century settlers.

But Montana ranchers like Perri Jacobs celebrated. She said the federal government, a perennial boogeyman for Western conservatives, finally seemed to be on her side.

“These lands are here for food,” said Ms. Jacobs, whose family has raised cows in northern Montana for nearly 110 years. “We have to understand that progress and time march forward. Bison just don’t fit on the landscape anymore.”

Progress? Really? Time marches on? Honestly I can't wait until you are gone, lady.

And the lands are here for food? Maybe in your world, nice to freely plunder the landscape that belongs to all Americans for your personal benefit, Perry.

I vote for the bison. Better for the environment.

And now your president wants to open 24 million more acres for grazing, even in the Grand Canyon. He ruins everything he touches, reminds me of Saruman's trip back to the Shire after he was defeated at Orthanc, Spiteful and cruel. Can't wait for him to be gone too.
