Bird recap

I didn't get much up at San Jacinto Sunday morning. I didn't feel like lugging the heavy prime lens out in the  gray, cold weather and stuck with the slow zoom. Lazy, I guess. Recipe for blah, not super sharp pictures.

Caught a pair of red tailed hawks on a pole, the smaller one is the male. Also not a too terrible shot of snowy egrets flying by. How do we know they are snowy and not greater egrets?

The bill color.

Greater bills are orange. Snowies are black.

Anyway not much picking except the red winged blackbirds.

No yellow heads around this time.

Not even a vermilion at the usual place.

I will be back to fight another day.
