Island Dreams

Polulu, Big Island - © Robert Sommers 2013
I need to use some up Amex points. We were thinking about making a short bop to either Cabo or Hawaii in the next couple months. Can anybody recommend interesting lodging in either locale? Open to the carribean as well. We will go to any island but we want to go someplace pretty cool and inexpensive. Not too touristy. Any ideas?

Motel 6 in Honolulu. Free continental breakfast and HBO. Owner sprays for bedbugs every year and offers seniors additional 10% off.

On your suggestion I finally made it to the Charles Reiffel exhibit. Really loved his San Jacinto painting.
Off the # 805 at University go to 2632 University Ave. to the Carnitas' Snack Shack. Easily the best pulled port sandwich I have ever tasted. CarnitasSnackShack.com Awesome!
My friend D (not the art guy) lives on one acre, ON THE BEACH in the middle of Hanalei Bay, Kauai.
He has a wonderful in-expensive guest house. G and I have spent our anniversary there, my son G spent his honeymoon there. He only rents it to friends, and good friends of friends. Never advertised. You can walk to town (Tahiti Nui bar), etc.
I have been everywhere and done everything. This is the best. Call D, drop my name, find out how much, and availability. 808-=======
Leslie will love it.
Aloha, Allan
