Odd promotion and double standards

Interesting article at the Intercept. Those three marines that joined the insurrection and were charged, who had made comments alluding to the coming race war in the Capitol riot? They were promoted and given highly critical intelligence jobs. See: MARINES CHARGED IN CAPITOL RIOT GOT HIGHLY SENSITIVE SPY JOBS AFTER JAN. 6

A MARINE CHARGED with taking part in the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol was transferred into a highly sensitive intelligence assignment at the headquarters of the National Security Agency after the violent attempt to overturn the 2020 election results, Marine Corps officials have acknowledged. The Marine confessed to his role in the Capitol riot last summer during a security clearance interview, but was not charged until last month.

Following his alleged participation in the 2021 insurrection, Sgt. Joshua Abate, a special communication signals analyst, was assigned to the Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion, which acts as a liaison between the Marines and the NSA at Fort Meade. The transfer into the liaison unit after the Capitol riot placed Abate inside one of the most sensitive facilities in the entire U.S. government.

Two other Marines charged with entering the Capitol alongside Abate on January 6 were also given sensitive new intelligence assignments within the Marine Corps after the insurrection, according to statements from the Corps. Sgt. Dodge Dale Hellonen was assigned to the 3rd Marine Raider Support Battalion, which provides intelligence support to the Marine Forces Special Operations Command at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. And Cpl. Micah Coomer was assigned to the Marines 1st Radio Battalion, which provides signals intelligence and electronic warfare support for the Marine Expeditionary Force based in Camp Pendleton, California. Like Abate, Hellonen and Coomer are highly trained in communications and signals intelligence.

The three Marines’ assignment to highly sensitive intelligence jobs after they allegedly joined in the January 6 riot has not been previously reported. All three were charged last month in connection with their roles as part of the violent mob that forced members of Congress to flee for their lives and delay certification of the 2020 election results. Abate, Hellonen, and Coomer are accused of offenses including trespassing, disorderly conduct, and illegal parading or picketing in a restricted building.

Waiting for the boogaloo...

Pardon me, I know I am just a civilian, but doesn't this sound really stupid? If the three marines had decided to join an Antifa unit and demonstrate, do you think the government would show them this same forbearance?

My friend Steve told me this morning that he was once arrested for wearing clothing that resembled the American flag.

I could never understand why it was okay for Buck Owens or Ted Nugent to wear the American flag but they want to put Abbie Hoffman and my friend Steve in jail?

How exactly does that work?

We see the double standard at the local level too. Anybody remember this
San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan has brought a sweeping new conspiracy case against left-wing protesters who counter-demonstrated at a pro-Trump rally in San Diego on Jan. 9. The result was a beachside brawl, during which rallygoers on the right flashed a knife and a BB gun and protesters on the left fired pepper spray. But rather than result in simple assault charges, Stephan is pressing conspiracy charges—and only against demonstrators on the left. The Jan. 9 brawl took place in the shadow of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The San Diego event, advertised as a Patriot March, saw participation from multiple far-right groups, and at least five people who had been present at the Capitol just three days earlier, the Appeal reported at the time. One journalist filmed a marcher throwing a Nazi salute at counter-protesters while fellow rallygoers shouted “fuck antifa.”Charging documents filed by Stephan’s office this month only focus on the fight’s leftist participants.

Another highly ranked active duty marine officer has also been charged: . A federal grand jury indicted Marine Maj. Christopher Warnagiris in June 2021 on multiple charges, including felony assault of a police officer during the insurrection. Warnagiris’ case is pending, and he has pleaded not guilty to all charges, according to court records.

Very deep fascist-tendencies type rot. How to root it out? Sworn oaths mean nothing to liars who believe god is on their side and approve of anything they do.
