Jonifest at Dizzy's

I got the following e-mail from Dave and Robin, my guitar teacher and his fabulous singer wife the other day and thought I would spread the word. If you like Joni Mitchell music and want to hear it performed by a topflight group of musicians, check out their show.

Hi Robert and Leslie,

We are excited about our concert next Sunday. Our stellar group of musicians, largely from jazz backgrounds, has dug into the deep complexities of Joni Mitchell's music, following in the footsteps of Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny and others. Dave and I have been working on the "Joni" project for over three years now, writing original arrangements and expanding the repertoire. This will be the debut of our full six piece band line-up:

Robin Adler-lead vocals
Dave Blackburn-guitars and vocals
Barnaby Finch-keyboards and vocals
Dave Curtis-bass, keyboards and vocals
Jeff Olson-drums and percussion
Britt Doehring-vocals

Robin and Dave are the best!! We have seen them a few times here in Fallbrook... most recently at the open house at the Fallbrook Film Fest. I had the opportunity to tell both of them how much I like their music. I have Robin's one CD on my iPod and it always makes me smile when one of her songs comes up.

We saw them do Joni Mitchell a year or more ago here in Fallbrook. It was a truly fantastic concert. We won't be going to this concert, but we will be thinking about them!!!

If any of you have the opportunity to attend their concert, you won't be disappointed... guaranteed!!!!
