The Observatory snap is really fine. I looked at it and immediately started mentally processing it as if it was an old hand tinted postcard or such. Suddenly I realized it was a straight photograph. The color palette is really fine. One of the things I like to see is a sensitivity of the photographer to the colors that are NOT in the picture. This uses few and unusual colors to produce good result.
In the interest of full accountability, actually I cheated, Jon. For the first time in about three years, I used an analog efx filter from dxo and dialed in an early forties film look for that one. Busted.
