The 10-year-old Ohio girl who crossed state lines to receive an abortion in Indiana should have carried her pregnancy to term and would be required to do so under a model law written for state legislatures considering more restrictive abortion measures, according to the general counsel for the National Right to Life.
Jim Bopp, an Indiana lawyer who authored the model legislation in advance of the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade, told POLITICO on Thursday that his law only provides exceptions when the pregnant person’s life is in danger.
“Unless her life was at danger, there is no exception for rape,” Bopp said. “The bill does propose exceptions for rape and incest, in my model, because that is a pro-life position, but it’s not our ideal position. We don’t think, as heartwrenching as those circumstances are, we don’t think we should devalue the life of the baby because of the sins of the father.”
But they have no problem devaluing the life of the little ten year old girl, do they? If they had their way, she would be consigned to a motherly role that she is completely ill prepared to serve, physically or emotionally, that is if she survives the childbirth.
Of course, until last night, the whole story was something the libs made up, a big lie.
“Why did the Biden administration — speaking of lying — just repeat a story about a 10-year-old child who got pregnant and they got an abortion or was not allowed to get an abortion when it turns out the story’s not true?” Tucker Carlson
And then it was the fault of the Doctor, Caitlin Bernard, acccording to anti abortion zealot Indiana A.G. Todd Rokita, for not reporting the procedure to the Indiana authorities properly, which she in fact did. Smite and punish the heretics, especially the women, that is something these crusaders are exceedingly good at.
This is what happens when a bunch of self righteous men and sanctimonius lawyers and dipshit politicians get involved in a female's personal and private reproductive decisions. Things get ugly real quick. And I promise you, this will not be the last time.
