One of my favorite 70's anthems, later covered by Sade and Steve Winwood. Timmy Thomas, the writer and keyboard player, died earlier this week at the age of 77. He had been a noted Memphis session player and had played with both Cannonball Adderley and Donald Byrd.
Love this groove.
