Panning

Here I push the pan down to a 1/125th of a second, ƒ6.3 at a base iso of 64. You are going to miss on occasion with this technique but who cares? You hit a couple. As you can see, the background motion blur is much different from the blur that you normally get shooting wide open and fast. I was surprised to see so few Hondas out there yesterday. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.

What was your shutter speed for the stop action shots? You did well with those. The surf shots I have been doing at 1/1500.

the fast shots were around f2.8, 2500, base iso (which is 36 points lower than a canon by the way)

I'm very happy to see these versions.
The benefit to lower shutter speeds is the great looking motion in the wheels. Similar to shooting prop airplanes at about 1/160th ss to get the right amount of prop blur.
