Starship

In 1971, Blows against the Empire was the first rock album ever nominated for a Hugo Award in the category of Best Dramatic Presentation. The Hugo is the most prestigious award in Science Fiction. Although the album received the plurality of the vote among the five nominated literary works, the majority of voters elected not to issue the award that year. Probably felt weird giving it to a piece of music. Too bad. Besides Paul and Grace, lots of guest artists on this work including David Crosby, Jerry Garcia, David Freiberg, Bill Kreutzmann, Graham Nash, Joey Covington, Mickey Hart, Peter Kaukonen, Jack Casady and Harvey Brooks.

We could use a Paul Kantner today. Weird voice, mediocre guitarist, great mind. I miss the guy.
