Before the late Jaco Pastorius became famous as an innovative jazz bass master with Weather Report and playing with Joni Mitchell he honed his chops in dance and funk bands like Wayne Cochran's C.C. Riders. Cochran was from Georgia and known as the White Knight of Soul. This cut is a 1972 recording. Jaco's dad was a drummer and he started out as a drummer but destroyed his wrists and changed to bass. Perhaps the most free and innovative bass player the world has ever known.
